PokerMates is a companion app for organizing friendly poker games with friends. The app does not support real-money gambling, wagering, betting, or payments of any kind. No money, chips, or credits can be bought, transferred, or redeemed within the app. Any references to buy-ins, winnings, or settlements are informational only and are tracked for personal record-keeping. All settlements, if any, occur outside the app between users. PokerMates is intended solely for social game organization, statistics tracking, and game management.

Stay in the loop with real-time push notifications for new games, RSVP updates, buy-ins, settlements, rule changes, and more, and customize which notifications each group sends. They say who, not just what happened — "Avery is going", "Avery added a moment in Friday Night", "Avery settled $40.00 with you" — so you know what one is about before you open it (in a public group, where members may not all know each other, that shows as a first name and last initial). Anything that needs an answer also lands in an in-app inbox with an unread badge — open a settlement to pay or mark it sent, or respond to a food order, straight from the notification.
Automatic settlement calculations with two-way payment confirmation. Settle via Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or Cash. The payer confirms they sent the payment, then the receiver confirms receipt. The app auto-selects the best payment method based on each player's profile. Running a big night across two or more tables? Each table settles within itself while the grand totals stay balanced across the whole game.
A dedicated Settle tab pulls every open balance from all your groups into one place, with the grand total up top — no opening each group in turn. Read it By Group or By Game, or filter down to a single group. Every row is written from your side — "You owe Bob", "Alice owes you" — and the actions sit right on the row: open Venmo or PayPal, mark as paid, confirm received, or snooze, without ever opening the game. Share one game's balances or the whole list, and export to CSV or JSON. When the screen is down to a single group, one tap on "Remind members in-app" nudges everyone who still has money open there — both the people who owe and the people who are owed — without singling anyone out in the group chat.
See who still owes whom across every game in one Outstanding Balances view. Payments that sit too long get flagged as stalled, with gentle in-app reminders you can snooze. Tap any balance to jump straight to that game and settle up — or send the whole group a single in-app reminder, which quietly skips anyone who has snoozed their balance.
Settling up in person? Show a payment QR code and let the other player scan it — their Venmo or PayPal opens with the amount already filled in (Venmo also carries the game as a note). Payment still happens in Venmo/PayPal, never in PokerMates. Adding your own Venmo/PayPal ID is just as easy: paste your profile link or scan a screenshot of your payment QR and we'll pull the username out for you.
Owed money by someone who isn't on PokerMates? Tap the Venmo or PayPal icon on your profile to show your own code. Anyone can scan it — no account needed — and pay you straight from their phone. This code carries no amount, because the person paying is the one who knows what they owe. As always, the payment happens in Venmo or PayPal, never in PokerMates.
Sign in however you like — Google, Apple or Facebook, or a classic email and password. Forgot it? A magic link signs you straight in, and recovery links open the app directly on iOS and Android. And not everyone has to sign up at all: hosts can add local players who never register, yet still get buy-ins, cash-outs and settlements tracked like anyone else. Perfect for the regular who will never install an app.
Three ways to get someone into a game, and only one of them needs an account. Members sign up and join your group. Local players never register — you add them yourself and they are tracked exactly like everyone else. Game guests scan a game's QR to join that one night only, without seeing the rest of your group. Roles of Creator, Admin and Member decide who can change what.
Get players in without chasing anyone down. Admins can show a QR code at the table or send a link over WhatsApp, email or text — one tap and they're in. A group link adds a full member; a game link adds a one-night guest to that game only (and RSVPs them going) without adding them to your group. Links can be revoked, expired, or use-limited at any time, and the app has a built-in scanner.
Agree the house rules up front, from a catalog of 40+ covering etiquette, betting, showdown and gameplay — including "Time to Act", the shot clock any player can call on someone taking too long. These are agreed rules your table enforces, not timers the app runs. Each one has stances like "Allowed" or "Not Allowed", you can add your own, and hosts can override them for a single game. Share the whole rulebook with your players over WhatsApp or email so nobody argues about it at 1am.
Set the chip denominations once for a group, or override them for a single game. At cash-out, tap Use Chip Calculator, step through how many of each colour the player has, and the total is worked out and applied to their cash-out for you — no mental arithmetic at 1am. Share the chip chart so everyone knows what a red one is worth before the first hand.
Save hosting addresses and share them with selected groups so players always know where the game is. Open in Google Maps or Apple Maps with one tap. Privacy controls let you choose exactly who sees your address.
Coordinate food orders for game night. The host can share an order link, manage a menu, or let players pick their own items, with the bill on the host, split evenly, or paid individually. The response tracker counts orders against the players who confirmed they're going — "7 of 9 ordered" — and lists the whole roster grouped into Ordered, Not ordered yet, Maybe, No RSVP, and Not going, so you know exactly who to chase.
